Refuge des Pradioux

The place

Unstaffed refuge at 1060 m in the Pyrenees (Haute-Garonne, Occitanie). Access from Balagué: leave the vehicle at the car park near a blacksmith's workshop, climb north on the yellow-marked path (PR B22). After about an hour, the path becomes a track and reaches a hamlet of barns. At Pla, a marker indicates leaving the track towards the N-NE in the direction of the col. At Sarrat, descend the track northward and take an almost level track eastward towards a visible col. Just before the col, pass through an ONF gate. Interior: a grill, 3-4 plates, 3 pans, 4 plastic camping armchairs, a table used to climb to the upper floor where there are three mattresses each in plastic covers. Rustic but clean setting. Outside on a large concrete slab: table with two attached benches. Wood stove for heating, water from a spring 100 m away, 6 people in summer and 3 in winter.
