The place

The porch of this typically Ligurian church, always open, is spacious, clean, fitted with benches and offers good shelter from rain and wind, and can even provide basic sleeping arrangements in case of need. The view over the sea is superb and a great sense of peace emanates from this place. Perinaldo is the birthplace of the astronomer Cassini and of the famous GIAN TOMASSO BORGOGNO, first geographer of the county of Nice and Piedmont. The church sits on the Col di San Bartolomeo between Perinaldo and Negi. It is reached via a beautiful paved mule track from Perinaldo or a trail from Negi. This very beautiful, typically Ligurian church belongs to the parish of Perinaldo. It is often closed but a superb porch offers a stopping point sheltered from wind and rain, or even a place to sleep.
