Cabane de l'Herbe Soulette
The place
The Cabane de l'Herbe Soulette is a pastoral cabin at 1,600 m elevation in the commune of Saint-Lary in the Couserans area (Ariège, Pyrenees). Divided into two sections: a private one reserved for the shepherd, and a free one open to hikers. Capacity of 5 places in the free section, fireplace, firewood and water available, 4 foam mattresses for sleeping in the loft. Reached via numerous trails leading to the pass of the same name or via the Trémailles forest track. A 2-day itinerary with an overnight stay on site is possible, giving access to the neighbouring peaks: Pic de Paumaudé and Pic de la Calabasse.
