The place

Cabane de Graouilles (sometimes listed at 1120 m, sometimes at 1150 m depending on the source) is an open cabin in the Couserans, in the Orle valley (Bonac-Irazein, Ariège). Spacious and comfortable cabin, capacity 6 people summer and winter alike, with a fireplace, nearby firewood and water from the stream below. Reachable in a day from the Pucelle car park (881 m), it gives access to the historic Décauville route (former mining railway) and its tunnels. Couserans: a territory with Gascon roots shaped by the course of the Salat.
