Cabane d'Illau
The place
The Cabane d'Illau (or d'Ilhaou) is an open cabin at 1485 m elevation, owned by the municipality of Seintein in the Couserans (Ariège). On the Tour du Biros, starting from the Frechendech car park, on the way to the Refuge de l'Étang d'Araing. Capacity 6 people summer and winter alike: fireplace, firewood available, water on site, sleeping platforms on the ground floor and mezzanine. Functional but rustic cabin: always dark and a bit dusty, but livable, watertight roof, mattresses upstairs. View of the long Chapelle de l'Isard across the valley. Bucolic and pleasant setting.

On the Tour du Biros, from the Frechendech car park, on the way to the Étang d'Araing.
