The place
The Abri sous le col Arech is an open dry-stone shelter (no door) with a non-watertight roof, at 1,650 m altitude in the Couserans (Ariège), at the junction of the GR10 and GR10E towards Bonac, below the col d'Arech on the Biros valley side. Water is found a little further up towards the col Arech. An emergency shelter for bad weather rather than a comfortable refuge. The Cabane d'Arech (1,638 m) is nearby as an alternative.

Getting there
On the GR10 / GR10E (junction), below the col d'Arech on the Biros side.
