The place

This is a traditional vaulted former sheepfold from the Vésubie. It belongs to the commune of Duranus and is left available to hikers. Historically, this sheepfold was used as a hideout by the "barbets" (Nissart partisans who fought against the French invader between 1792 and 1815). Plat Liberté can be reached either via the Col des Portes in about 1h30 or via Engarvin and Roccasparviera in 2h30 of walking. Commune of Duranus
