Abri de la tour de guet du Mont Ferion

The place

Small shelter on the ground floor of the DFCI fire-watch tower at the summit of Mont Férion, in the Préalpes de Nice at 1412 m. Owned by the Alpes-Maritimes departmental council, it is left in free access to hikers in the event of a storm or late arrival. Room of about 10 m², well enclosed and insulated, fitted with a fireplace and a built-in bench for cooking and sitting. Not designed for a comfortable night's sleep but comes in handy when needed. The summit offers a panorama over the whole of the Alpes-Maritimes, the Côte d'Azur and sometimes Corsica.
