The place
Swiss Alpine Club guarded hut at 1,999 m in the Alpstein massif, managed by the Toggenburg section of the SAC. Forty beds in season, eight in the winter room. Guarded seasonally on weekends once the snow above 2,000 m melts. Annual collective maintenance by section volunteers to restock for the season.
