Winter room Rifugio Soria Ellena

The place

Winter room at 1840 m, at the place known as Praiet, commune of Entracque (province of Cuneo, Italy), in the Italian Maritime Alps (Marittime-Mercantour park). The main Soria-Ellena refuge, run by the CAI Cuneo section and dedicated to the mountaineers Edoardo Soria and Gianni Ellena (very active in the Gesso valley, route openers on the Corno Stella), has no built-in winter room: this function is served by the structure below the main refuge, the Gias del Prajet. Staffed season from 15 June to 15 September; off-season from 15 October to 15 April by weekend reservation.
