PCT shelter (Pacific Crest Trail, 4265 km Mexico-Canada, 3-6 months hikers, 300 completions/year), area with Pinus ponderosa (yellow pine) + Pseudotsuga menziesii (Douglas fir) + Tsuga heterophylla (western hemlock) + Waldo Lake (5th purest lake in the world, 100% clarity, no nutrients, oligotrophic zooplankton exceptionally scarce, 1970s zooplankton crash), heritage of the Molala and Klamath peoples (Molala, a Penutian plateau people, extinct in the 20th century, deported, then Klamath Reservation dissolved in 1954, restored in 1986 + Cayuse-Umatilla Confederated Tribes reservation 970 km², 3000 individuals).
