Thunder Meadows Hut in the Rocky Mountains, Fernie/Sparwood sector (East Kootenay, British Columbia, Canada), at 1885 m altitude, Elk Range. Continuous Canada BC Rockies cluster (batches 200-339). Rustic backcountry ski hut of the East Kootenay avalanche network, run by BCTS (BC Timber Sales; "Thunder Meadows" high-altitude meadows prone to storms) and linked to the Ktunaxa (a Rocky Mountains people, 4 bands — Yaqan Nukiy/Aq'am/Yaq'it ?a·knuqli'it/ʔaq'am, about 500 each — a linguistic isolate distinct from other Salish/Algonquian peoples), in a subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa) zone with Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis).
