Stellar Hut

The place

Mountaineering hut on the Kaskawulsh Glacier, in the Saint Elias Range (Kluane Icefield, Yukon, Canada), about 35 km from Mount Logan. Operated by Icefield Discovery (Sian Williams and Lance Goodwin, based near Haines Junction on Kluane Lake). Access only by ski-plane from Kluane Lake. No road serves the area: strict visual flight rules apply, "no see, no fly". Serves as a base for mountaineering and ski expeditions on the Kluane Icefield (the largest non-polar icefield in the world) and the Saint Elias Range (summits up to 6,000 m).
