Rifugio Silvietto
The place
Refuge in the Valdinferno, owned by the parish of San Giuseppe di Savona, at 1495 m, in the Garessio area (province of Cuneo, southern Piedmont — bordering Liguria). Nice mid-sized building. The refuge is reached via a short branch heading right at around 1495 m. From the clearing in front of the refuge, a beautiful panorama over the Valdinferno as well as toward the Colla Bassa, Monte Antoroto, and Monte Grosso. Access via the Ceva motorway exit to Garessio, then turn toward Valdinferno: after about 6.5 km, you reach the clearing below the parish church. The second part of the trail can be overgrown with vegetation and grass — access is not always straightforward.
