Rifugio Piatt Fontana

The place

Staffed refuge at 2185 m, accessed from Prato (Vallemaggia, Ticino, Switzerland), via the normal route to the Capanna Soveltra then a white-red marked trail forming part of the Via Alta Vallemaggia, climbing through a sparse forest to Corte di Fondo and the Corte Grande of the Alpe Fontana. Possible short afternoon excursion to the Lago del Piatto basin.
