The place
Staffed refuge at 2,818 m in the Valpelline, a side valley of the Aosta Valley, category D with a warden service. Seventy beds in high season, twenty in the winter section. Built in 1928 under the name Refuge du Col Collon, then modernised in 1994 with a second building of advanced alpine architecture for the western Alps. Managed by the La Barma des Fleurs de Glace cooperative. A base for routes to the Col de Collon, the Tête Blanche and the Petit Mont Collon.
