大障子避難小屋 (Ō-Shōji Hinan-goya, "Great Divide Emergency Cabin") in the Yatsugatake range, Chino/Nobeyama sector (Nagano/Yamanashi prefecture border, central Japan), at 1,653 m altitude, on the Nishi-Yatsugatake slope, 2,814 m. Continuous Japan Yatsugatake cluster (batches 280-349). A hinan-goya emergency shelter in the Yatsugatake (8 alpine peaks, extinct Quaternary stratovolcanoes, last eruption 2500 BC), a zone with Betula ermanii (Erman's birch) + Pinus pumila (Japanese stone pine, subalpine) + Rhododendron aureum, the golden rhododendron endemic to the Japanese high plateaus + Ochotona (pika) endemic to the Yatsugatake, the only place in the world outside Hokkaido, and Kōfu heritage (Yamanashi prefecture, Japanese Koshu wine, an endemic grape variety with 800 years of production + "sakuranbo" cherries, blossom festivals drawing thousands of tourists).
