Refuge du Seignas

The place

Unstaffed refuge, always open and accessible to everyone without booking, at 1580 m in the Digne foothills (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). Practically on the GR6 route, west of the village of Barles (5.7 km) and a little below the east side of the Col de Clapouse, on the left bank of a small ravine. Excellent condition: tables, benches, chairs, kitchen area, electric lighting, six clean mattresses upstairs. Stage 1 of the GR6 (Selonnet — Refuge du Seignas) and a stopover on many hikes towards the Monges.
