Refuge du Montchal

The place

A utility room set up in the cross-country ski trail maintenance building, at 1270 m along the GR 30 and GR 41 trails, about 200 m south of a viewpoint over Lac Pavin (Massif du Sancy, Auvergne, Puy-de-Dôme). More of a shelter room than a traditional refuge: table, several chairs and a bin. Open during the cross-country ski season and in summer. In decent condition despite some signs of wear (October 2023).
