Refuge de Terre Rouge
The place
The Refuge de Terre Rouge is a private, staffed refuge inaugurated in 2017, at 2182 m altitude between the Valmeinier resort and Mont Thabor, in the Cerces massif (Savoie). It has 35 beds across 6 dormitories of 4 to 8 places, with 4 showers, 3 washbasin cubicles and 4 toilets (including one accessible). Open from mid-June to mid-September and from January to early April. It also has an unstaffed winter room with gas, dishes, sink, 4 beds with blankets, sanitary facilities and a radiator. Marie-Paule Faugeras and Denis Noraz run the reception. Access from the Chenalette car park (1747 m) in 1h30 in summer.

A bit of history
Refuge privé reconstruit à partir de 2012 sur les ruines d'un ancien chalet d'alpage, ouvert en 2017 — bâtiment moderne à ossature bois, chauffage à granulés et électricité photovoltaïque.
