The place

Staffed refuge at 1470 m in the Bornes-Aravis (Haute-Savoie), about 1h30 walk from the Plateau des Glières, in the Combe des Sarrazins on the way up to the Col de Spée (about 400 m elevation gain). Capacity 35 beds spread across 3 dormitories of more than 10 spaces each. Dry toilets, wind turbine, solar panels for electricity, showers, common areas.
