Refuge de l'Etang d'Izourt

The place

Unstaffed refuge at 1650 m beside the Étang d'Izourt, in the Sabarthès (Ariège, near Vicdessos). Spacious with wooden tables and benches, large sleeping platform, capacity of about 10 people. No fireplace but electricity with lighting and power outlets, clothesline. Adjoining a shepherd's hut. Cool in summer due to the altitude — bring good sleeping gear. Water from the stream right nearby.
