The place
Chalet-refuge of the Éclaireuses Éclaireurs de France (EEDF), at 1,300 m altitude in the Parc naturel Livradois-Forez (commune of Chalmazel-Jeansagnière, Loire), between the Col du Béal and the Chalmazel ski slopes. Capacity of 16 beds spread over 4 rooms of 4. Full sanitary facilities, large equipped kitchen and large dining room for 20 to 25 people with wood stove. Solar heating (underfloor and water) for energy savings. Accessible on foot only (≈15 min from the car parks). Getting there
Aucune route ne dessert le refuge : il faut environ 20 minutes de marche depuis le parking le plus proche. Il se trouve à 1300 m d'altitude, entre le Col du Béal et les pistes de ski de Chalmazel.
The setting
En pleine forêt du massif du Livradois-Forez (Chalmazel-Jeansagnière, Loire), exposé plein sud et proche du Col du Béal, ce chalet-refuge se prête bien aux activités de plein air : randonnée, raquettes, VTT, ski alpin ou nordique.
