The place

High-mountain hut of the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) on the northern edge of the Wapta Icefield, in Banff National Park (Alberta). At 2,500 m elevation, it serves as a base for mountaineering, glacier travel and ski touring, and is often used as a start or end point for Wapta traverses. Capacity 18 in summer, 16 in winter. Managed by the ACC since 1989. Named in honour of Peter and Catharine Whyte.
