Middle Gorge Hut

The place

DOC standard-category hut with six bunks located at 1245 m in the Godley Peaks Conservation Area (Canterbury), on the true left bank of the Mistake River near Lake Tekapo. Fee NZD 10 adult and NZD 5 for youth 5-17 per night, free below that age, payable via standard hut tickets left on site or an annual Backcountry Hut Pass. No booking. Foot access to Mistake Creek is subject to authorization from Godley Peaks Station. Helicopter landings are subject to operator concessions and permissions. Map BY16, NZTM2000 E1395728, N5151074.
