The place
FFCAM hut at 893 m in the commune of La Palud-sur-Verdon (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), at the heart of the Parc naturel régional du Verdon. The only accommodation located directly in the Gorges du Verdon, at the start of the Sentier Blanc-Martel (a leg of the GR 4). Former farm renovated in 1936 after two years of work. Capacity of 43 beds in rooms of 4 to 6 places with WC, sink and shower. Open from Palm Sunday to 11 November. Not connected to the public water network: spring water stored in tanks; showers reserved for stays of more than three nights, outdoor dry toilets replace the indoor sanitary facilities. Major waypoint on the GR 4 and GR 99, access to the Imbut and Blanc-Martel trails, and whitewater activities (canyoning, rafting). Contact 04 92 77 38 05 or 04 86 90 58 66.
Getting there
En voiture depuis Moustiers-Sainte-Marie ou Castellane : D952/D123 jusqu'à La Palud-sur-Verdon, puis D23 (route de la Maline) sur ~8 km. Itinéraire alternatif par la route des Crêtes : ~16 km. Altitude 893 m. Stationnement limité sur place.
The setting
Le chalet surplombe les Gorges du Verdon, dans le Parc naturel régional du Verdon. Paysage de dalles rocheuses grises, falaises, dont le Point Sublime, végétation méditerranéenne et alpine. Site prisé pour l'escalade, la randonnée (GR4, GR99, sentier Blanc-Martel), le canyoning, le VTT, le trail et le parapente.

Gardien : Cédric Defontaine, accompagné de son équipe. Cuisine « simple, naturelle et raffinée », « un moment chaleureux et convivial » en soirée, conseils sur les activités locales.
