The place
Útulňa at around 1156-1185 m in the upper Jamnícka dolina, in the Western Tatras (Slovakia), on the blue-marked trail. Managed by the Urbariát Liptovská Kokava, based in Jamník (033 01). Capacity 8 to 14 people — bring a sleeping pad and foam mattress (2 double wooden platforms + 2 five-person platforms). No electricity, a stove for heating and cooking on site; basic cutlery, pots, pans and glasses available. Open year-round with no service, but be aware of the winter trail closures (avalanches). Water from the nearby stream. Voluntary payment by bank transfer. A popular stop for hikers in the Pribylina / Roháče area.
