Klipspringer Cabin
The place
Klipspringer Cabin is a stopover shelter on the Klipspringer Trail in Karoo National Park (SANParks, Western Cape, South Africa), at 302 m altitude. The trail crosses Klipspringer Pass, a scenic 13 km route built in dry stone using the environmentally friendly "Andrew Bain" method, with a viewpoint at Rooivalle. Klipspringers (rock-dwelling antelope) are regularly seen on the pass that bears their name. Dassies (rock hyraxes) can be seen on the rocks near the viewpoint. A black eagle pair's nest is visible on the cliffs. The site is renowned for stargazing (no light pollution, total silence).
