The place

Heptagonal alpine backcountry cabin at 1,920 m near Valemount (British Columbia), run by Ann and Gordon. Screened porch, subalpine meadows and views of Mount Robson and neighboring ranges. Year-round access via a 5.8 km trail (885 m elevation gain, about 3 h). Equipped kitchen, propane stove, split firewood, bed, outdoor fire pit and benches. Activities: hiking, snowshoeing, skiing and exploring nearby peaks.
