The place
A backcountry cabin in coastal British Columbia, at around 1020 m in the Yahoo Creek Spring area, near Fat Ass Peak in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. A simple wooden shelter used as a base for mountaineering and spring ski touring in the Sky Pilot and Tantalus Range area, on the edge of the Howe Sound fjord. The cabin carries the two familiar nicknames “Hat Hilton” and “Yahoo Cabin” — typical usage among the local skiers and climbers who frequent it. Unstaffed, no reservation, bring your own gear and fuel.

Approach via the forest roads above Squamish / Howe Sound. A route known to locals, lightly marked.
