The place
Former medieval troglodyte dwelling carved into a cliff above Fraisse-Haut, in the commune of Laveissière (Cantal, Auvergne), at 1250 m. Three levels carved into the rock, connected by staircases. Occupied from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century by farmers. Access from Fraisse-Haut via the yellow-waymarked trail (250 m of elevation gain), or via the GR 400 (Way of St James) passing above. A heritage site occasionally used as a shelter by hikers.
