Green Point Hut

The place

DOC backcountry hut in the Gamack Conservation Area (Canterbury, Jollie River basin). Former musterers' cabin from Braemar Station, now within a protected area frequented by thar (Himalayan tahr) hunters. Free. No DOC-marked trail: independent route-finding required. Marked route from Braemar Mount Cook Station Road, east shore of Lake Pukaki; mountain-bike/walking route crossing 3 km of private property to Jollie Hut, then a further ~8 km to Green Point Hut.
