Gannakouriep Wilderness Camp

The place

Desert camp managed by SANParks in the |Ai-|Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park (Northern Cape, South Africa). Capacity for eight people across four canvas cabins, one of which is wheelchair accessible. Each cabin includes a bedroom, a bathroom, an equipped kitchenette (12V solar fridge, gas stove, crockery), an outdoor patio with table, chairs and a braai. 12V solar lighting, with paraffin lanterns as backup. Local water is highly mineralized and not drinkable: bring your own drinking water and firewood. Access only by high-clearance 4x4 vehicle. Rocky setting in a valley within the park.
