The place

Emergency shelter at 789 m near Elsay Lake, in the center of Mount Seymour Provincial Park, 15 km northeast of the city of North Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada). Emergency cabin maintained by North Shore Rescue — hikers may use it if necessary provided they clean up after themselves and leave no trace. Dry toilet nearby, a few basic tent spots. Trail closed in winter, marked by cairns and ribbons in summer. Access from the upper Mount Seymour parking lot: 4 to 6 hours one way, 6 to 8 hours round trip, expect steep slopes, rolling stones, snow patches lingering late in the season, and sometimes tricky stream crossings.
