Alpine Club of Canada cabin in Elk Lakes Provincial Park (British Columbia, near the Alberta border), at 1,716 m. 62 km south of the Trans-Canada Highway in Kananaskis Country (Alberta) and 104 km north of Sparwood (BC). Capacity of 10 to 14 people depending on the source; 10 cm foam mattresses on a large sleeping platform. The ACC has operated the cabin since summer 2004; a new 10-year agreement (2020-2030) was awarded in 2019 through a tender process. A base for exploring the sparkling lakes, waterfalls and peaks of Elk Pass. Reasonable access of 3-4 hours' walk from Peter Lougheed Park — a popular family destination and backcountry gateway for many first-time visitors. Booking via the ACC website.
