The place

Historic USFS cabin in the Fremont-Winema National Forest (Paisley Ranger District, Oregon), at 1,815 m. **Built in 1933** as a forward station for fire prevention and firefighting crews; named after a local ranch owner. 42 m² (450 sq ft) two-room cabin, capacity 4 people: bedroom/living room with bunk beds plus a double bed, propane heating stove, propane fridge, propane cooking stove, sink, dishes and utensils. No water on site — bring drinking, washing, and cooking water. Bring sleeping bags, mattresses, towels, toilet paper, garbage bags. 1 mile north of the Sycan Wild and Scenic River (fly fishing). Rate approx. $40/night. Season mid-June to mid-October. Book via recreation.gov or the USFS Currier Guard Station Recreation Rental.
