The place

Winter hut run by the Mount Tahoma Trails Association (MTTA, a non-profit) near Ashford (Washington), in the northern district of the hut network near Mount Rainier, at 1,279 m. Capacity 14 people, running water. 4 miles (≈6.4 km) from the Road 92 Sno Park, reachable by cross-country ski or snowshoe in winter, on foot via forest roads in summer. On land belonging to the Nisqually Land Trust (wilderness reserve): dogs not allowed. Online booking, November-to-November season.
