Cloudburst Cabin

British Columbia · Canada0 mUnguardedVerified listing

The place

Backcountry cabin at 1193 m on the flank of Cloudburst Mountain, in the Squamish area (British Columbia, Canada). Accessed via the 200 Road from the Squamish Valley Road — the same road that serves Tricouni Peak. A roughly 110 m trail begins about 100 m from the end of the logging road, marked by a small cairn and fluorescent tape; above the cabin, the route through the undergrowth is marked with pink tape and follows a steep drainage down to the main creek. Cloudburst is not a highly rated classic due to difficult navigation and numerous cliffs; spring remains the best approach season (snowpack covering the undergrowth). A basic cabin used as a base camp by local backcountry skiers and climbers.
