Glacier Circle Cabin
The place
The Glacier Circle Cabin is a small log cabin of the Alpine Club of Canada, built in 1922 and rebuilt in 2006 (new foundation, roof, walls, porch, and outdoor toilets). It sits at 1820 m altitude in the Dawson Range of the Selkirks, in a deep, wooded cirque bordered by Mt. Macoun, Mt. Fox, Mt. Selwyn, and Mt. Topham, below the ridge of the Illecillewaet Névé in Glacier National Park (British Columbia, Canada). Capacity 8 people. Equipment: wood stove, white gas stove, lantern, limited dishware, but no fuel provided. Access is usually via the Illecillewaet Névé (14 km from the Illecillewaet campground), requiring glacier travel skills and navigation in poor weather.
