Cabanon du Marquis

The place

A freely accessible cabin located on the edge of a DFCI (forest fire) track at Roquefort-la-Bédoule (Bouches-du-Rhône), at 500 m, 500 m from the junction of the GR 51 and GR 98. An inscription on the outdoor water tank sums up the spirit of the place: "Le cabanon du Marquis welcomes all who respect it." Interior facilities: working fireplace, several tables and chairs, plenty of wood in the surrounding area, rainwater collected in the tank. Remarkable views over the Bay of La Ciotat, the Sainte-Baume range and the Sainte-Victoire. A popular stopover for hikers, mountain bikers and hunters; park at the Grand Caunet car park to reach the cabin.
