The place
Three buildings at 2100 m in the Sainte-Marguerite lake valley, accessible from the Les Orres resort (Hautes-Alpes, southern Alps) via a forest road closed to motorised traffic: a sheepfold, the shepherd's lodging and a hikers' refuge. Small wooden greenhouse covered in plastic sheeting with tables and benches to shelter from the wind. Free-access refuge open to the public.
