Cabane perchée d'observation du Nant des Brassets

The place

Wooden observation cabin set about 10 m above the ground in a small fir clearing at the foot of the Nant des Brassets, at 1,458 m in the Bornes-Aravis massif (Haute-Savoie). Access via a fairly steep wooden ladder. Very small usable space (about 1.5 × 1.5 m), corrugated-metal roof. Its main purpose is wildlife watching, not designed for sleeping. Serves as emergency shelter in bad weather thanks to the surrounding fir trees. Difficult access in summer (no clear trail); easier in winter with snow, following the Nant des Brassets stream upward.
