The place

Cabin at 1615 m in the Parpaillon massif (Ubaye, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), commune of Pontis. Basic shelter: bare earth floor, one window with no glass, wooden roof structure providing a degree of shelter in a pinch despite imperfect weatherproofing. No mattress, blanket, stove, fireplace or latrines. Morgonnet spring about 565 m away. For authorisation, contact the ONF (forestry office) or Pontis town hall.
