The place
A small stone hut dating from 1890, fully renovated in 2003, set at 2768 m on the normal route up Mont Blanc between Nid d'Aigle and the Refuge de Tête Rousse (Saint-Gervais-les-Bains). Served as an emergency or storm shelter. Remarkable viewpoint over Mont Blanc, the Chamonix valley, the Dôme du Goûter, the Aiguille du Midi and the Aravis range. Reopened on 19/11/2021, closed again since August 2024. Access from the Nid d'Aigle tramway station in 1 h 30 via a trail marked with cairns and red markers.
