The place
The Cabane de Trémul is a cabin in the Ariège Pyrenees at 2085 m elevation in the Couserans, in the immediate vicinity of the Porte de Trémul (2270 m), below the Pic de Trémul. It sits 2.5 km northwest of Mont Valier. Access is from the Ribérot valley via the Pla de la Lau car park, along the GR10 then a marked path climbing in steep switchbacks through the forest. Important: the cabin was closed by the ONF (sources mention 'since August 3rd') and is no longer accessible.
