Cabane de Soardi-Fassero
The place
"ValSea Nino Soardi - Marco Fassero" bivouac at 2297 m in the upper part of the Vallone di Sea, Val Grande di Lanzo (municipality of Groscavallo, province of Turin, Piedmont, Italy). Dedicated to the memory of Nino Soardi (1887-1969), president of CAI UGET Torino, and of Marco Fassero, a young climber from Cirié who died at 28 in summer 1989 during a rappel on the ridge of the nearby Punta di Mezzenile. Current construction dates from 1993, replacing the former Mar Val camp active since 1957. Wood structure clad in sheet metal, always open, 14 places, mattresses, blankets, pillowcases, photovoltaic lighting. Access from Forno Alpi Graie, the end of the Val Grande di Lanzo road, about 3 h 30 walking. Managed by CAI UGET Torino and by the Amici di Marco Fassero.
