Cabane de Barlonguère: Rustic Refuge in the Heart of the Pyrenees The Cabane de Barlonguère, nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, offers a rustic refuge for mountain lovers. With a capacity of 5 places, this refuge offers simple but cozy amenities. Amenities and Comfort Left-hand side: Large wooden sleeping platform, fireplace. Right-hand side: Wooden sleeping platform, two old worn foam mattresses. Access and Route from Les Bordes-sur-Lez Starting point: Pla de la Lau car park at 930m (Maison du Valier). Route: Follow the red/white marked path signed Mont Valier/Les Estagnous. At the junction before the stream, take the yellow-marked path on the right. The path climbs toward Peyralade/Barlonguère, passing several picturesque waterfalls. Cross the stream and climb slightly to the right to reach the cabin. Route from the Refuge des Estagnous Descend to the Étang Rond, climb along the south bank to reach the Étang Long. Cross to the left bank (cable in places) to reach the Port de Barlonguère. Descend toward the Cabane de Barlonguère, crossing the stream and passing along the left bank. Climb slightly above the path to reach the cabin. Opening Period Availability: Year-round, weather and snow conditions permitting.
