Cabane de Marimanha

The place

Unstaffed hut at 2000 m in the Val d'Aran / Couserans area, near the Franco-Spanish border. Very basic interior furnishings: a table and two low benches made of planks resting on stones, plus a clean wooden floor that can fit a mattress. Accessible from the Gracia-Airoto refuge by crossing the Col d'Airoto to the north, descending toward the Estanyons de Marimanha via the right bank then along a small stream through pastures to the hut on the left bank, before the stream plunges into a rocky gorge. Unmarked path with a few cairns. Another access from Estarri d'Aneu, Isil and the Montgarri path near the Pont de Marimanha via a yellow-marked path climbing south-southeast through forest with switchbacks.
