Cabane de Larreix: A Rustic Stopover at the Heart of Nature The Cabane de Larreix, nestled at an altitude of 1470 meters, offers hikers a rustic and welcoming shelter. With capacity for 12 sleeping places, 6 of them on mattresses, this simple yet comfortable hut has a fireplace, two tables, and a few benches. Upstairs, a large floor area holds mattresses for a peaceful night out in nature. An outdoor spring lets you freshen up after a day's hike. Access From the Col de Menté, follow a track gently descending to the west-northwest. After about 1 km, follow the yellow-and-red GRP markings to reach another track. Follow this track up to its end, where there are two buildings. The larger one is the shepherd's hut, while the smaller one is open to hikers. Située à 1470 m d'altitude sur la Voie Normale du Cagire (commune de Sengouagnet, Haute-Garonne, massif Couserans - Aran N), cette cabane non gardée offre 12 places sur bas-flanc avec cheminée, sans matelas ni couvertures fournis. Elle sert de point de départ ou d'étape pour la randonnée et le ski de randonnée vers le Pic du Cagire (1912 m). Son nom alternatif, « Maison du berger - Larreix », confirme sa vocation pastorale d'origine.
