The place

Communal hut open all year at 1920 m in Haute-Ariège (Vicdessos area). Renovated and extended: capacity increased from 4 to 8 sleeping places, plus 2 private places for shepherds. Clean and very well equipped: stove (bring wood), a few blankets. Drinking-water spring 200 m away heading towards the valley (on the ledge path going up); the tap on site is not drinkable. The stove works well but needs quite a lot of wood to heat; no wood available in the surrounding area.
